Quezon City, Philippines – August 31, 2025 — The ECLARO Soaring Eagles Chess Team proudly showcased their strategic prowess and competitive spirit at the ISAAL QC-Wing DepEd Palaro 2025, held at King’s Montessori School in Novaliches, Quezon City.

The tournament gathered some of the brightest young minds in the region, and the Soaring Eagles rose to the challenge.

In the High School Girls Rapid Chess category,

Abrielle Cornita secured a strong 6th place finish, while Joechelle Pardillo followed closely at 7th place, both demonstrating composure and sharp tactical play.

The High School Boys Rapid Chess category saw an outstanding performance from the team:

Jerome Viscayno battled his way to a well-earned 2nd place,

and Newton Jom Abello dominated the field to capture the Championship title.

These achievements highlight the team’s growing reputation in the local chess scene and reflect the hard work of both the players and their coaches.
